In
the early 1990's, the people of Martin County took a stand for the trees and were able to keep them from being bulldozed down
when the road was first paved.

Just a few members of the Martin Grade Team - Left
to right: Ed Oliver, Mona Schwall, Amanda Farinos, Lee Jones, Mary Dawson, Jimmy Schwall,
Linda Green, Margaret Morales, Nancy Oliver
|
But more must be done to protect the trees in face of
traffic generated by future growth in the area and invasive native species.
|
Only
the people can protect the trees!
